ECOMY's Negeri Sembilan Bird Expedition held on 15-16 October 2016 at Taman Hidupan Liar, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan is Malaysia's first Bird Expedition series which was an overnight camping survey for birds. The event that drew was a success in terms of support and achievement. The inaugural event by ECOMY was unique as it brought the birdwatching and wildlife photographers' community together to survey, document and identify birdwatching potentials for this little known recreation forest.

The expedition was organised in partnership with Lembaga Pelancongan Negeri Sembilan, Forestry Department and PERHILITAN. The presence of the Wild Bird Club of Malaysia (WBCM) and Nature Educational Society (NESt) together with the local volunteers who came forward to support the event made all the difference in the historic event.

A new bird list has since been created as a result of an amazingly successful event. It was circulated and published into the eBird system. 109 species recorded in almost 24 hours - including the Critically Endangered Helmeted Hornbill!

ECOMY thanks all involved for their support and stands ready to continuously develop this area and to assist any other areas and property owners across the country to develop their ecotourism potentials.
