ECOMY, since its inception in January 2015 has successfully organized and run many initiatives in the Ecotourism and Conservation fraternity.This includes local and international events & campaigns, managing and operating an eco centre, supported many causes in nature and wildlife, empowering communities by providing training and livelihood opportunities plus investing in the young by the inculcating the volunteerism through the Young Volunteers Program called the EcoWarriors and environmental education programs.
One of our vital and sustainable initiatives is empowering the Orang Asal in Pahang, mainly in the vicinity of our beautiful Taman Negara in Kuala Tahan.What started as a simple initiative in lighting up the village with solar power by providing them simple solar panels has now escalated to a more significant program in health & hygiene education for the young ones, construction of proper toilets, providing clean water and of course, solar power panels and lights.Please check out our website for the detail story here https://www.ecomy.org/empowering-orang-asli-communities.
We are thankful that we are able to do this with two (2) villages and we would like to expand this to a few more villages. This will address the issues of safety and health with proper education on hygiene, clean water, lights and facilities like suitable lavatories as it will eradicate safety health issues such as injuries, diseases and ailments such as diarrhea, acute vomiting and abdominal cramps.
